Sites with searchable databases
These sites have search capabilities, saving you much time and making searching easy.
- iSleuth Parallel search engines allow you to search up to 10 databases, within categories, simultaneously.
- Family Search The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made a large portion of its giant genealogical database available free through the Internet since going online in May 1999. FamilySearch allows you to search for information on ancestors by entering their first and last names and the names of their parents. You can also search by keywords, create custom searches, or browse by record type (including census, court, and military records). The site also gives you the opportunity to recommend other sites for inclusion, helps you hook up with other researchers, and gives you basic information on preserving your family history. The Church has said that it will continue to add to the online resources. http://www.familysearch.org
