Additional archived public records are located on the NCGenWeb Archives Project site on RootsWeb.  If you have family records you are considering donating to the North Carolina GenWeb Archives, you should read and accept the terms of RootsWeb's Accepted Use Policy, located at http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/aup.html; by submitting your materials, you are acknowledging that you have done so.  In short, it tells you that anything you donate becomes the property of RootsWeb and they may sell it, charge to see it, re-publish it or do whatever they choose with the materials.  As of June 2000 RootsWeb is owned by MyFamily.com, Inc., owner of Ancestry.com.   USGenWeb Archives and NC USGenWeb Archives are not the same organization as The USGenWeb Project, despite the similarities in the names. As of August 2009, Ancestry is becoming a public corporation.
