to this database are appreciated by other researchers. Odessa Radford Davis Duke, 86, former resident of Kirkwood Retirement Village, passed away on Tuesday [September 23, 2008] at the Brian Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday [September 25, 2008] at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwight Dunning officiating. Interment will be held on Friday [September 26, 2008] at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Sutton officiating. Odessa was born in Johnston County on Jan. 9, 1922, to the late Thomas Radford and Mary Toler Radford. She was a retired teacher’s assistant with the Goldsboro City Schools. Odessa was a member of the Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church and was involved in the Women’s Ministries. Odessa is survived by her sons, Ronny Davis of Goldsboro and Roy Davis of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Brian Davis and wife, Carolyn of Forest Hill, Md., Kristin Davis of Chesapeake, Va. and Sarah Paul and husband, Andrew of Front Royal, Va.; and her best friend, Christine Jernigan. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the medical staff at the Brian Center for the loving care given to their mother.
