Seeking information on Richard HODGES (b.1740's- d.1800/05), believed to be son of Francis HODGES, SR., and Frances CARRUTHERS of New Bern, who was living in Dobbs County near Wheat Swamp at the time of the American Revolution. He had (I think) two sons: (1) Richard Hodges, Jr., (d. 1842, Wayne County), who married Lydia DAWSON (b. 1792), dght. of Thomas Dawson and Elizabeth HARDY, and (2) Edward Hodges (b. ca. 1780-d. 1815/20, Lenoir County), who was the first husband of Catherine ARENDELL (b. 1780's- d. 1830's), dght. of William Arendell (will dated 1822) of Lenoir County. There were likely several daughters as well. Brothers Joshua Hodges and Francis Hodges, Jr. are known to have relocated to Burke and Bulloch Counties, Georgia, in the 1780's. Another brother, Hardy Hodges, may have died in the revolution. I am especially interested in knowing the name of Richard's wife, and in obtaining any information available on his son, Edward.
