JORDAN, WILKINS posted by Bev Williamson on Saturday, March 14, 1998

am researching WILKINS and JORDAN in Wayne Co NC. Last week a distant cousin sent me a clipping from the News-Argus: "Closure At Last - Pilot's remains are returned from Viet Nam".  The clipping did not have the date, but it must be either very late October or before Nov.5 '96. The story concerns a Navy Commander George H. Wilkins, who was from Goldsboro, NC.  It details his loss over Viet-Nam, to a recent burial in Arlington National Cemetery. No immediate family members had been located. His father, not named, died (assume Wayne Co) in 1967. CDR Wilkins was 35 years old in 1966, so would have been born about 1931. The article mentions that he was "born in Angier" but his mother lived outside of Goldsboro until the late '70s. Would it be possible for you to assist me in any way in trying to identify this man?
