COX, GINNET, JENNETT, KINSEY, MACDONALD posted by Susan Jinnett-Sack on Tuesday, December 28, 1999

I am seeking any information that would prove the parentage of Richard JENNETT, born cir 1819 in NC. It is believed that his parents are Henry Jennett/Gennet and Sarah Cox, who were married in 1816 in Contentnea, Wayne County NC. Sarah Cox is the daughter of Richard Cox and Susannah Kinsey and was dismissed from meeting for marrying a non-Quaker(apologies if I've used the wrong terminology here). In the 1820 census for Wayne County, there are three Jennett families(there spelled "Ginnet"): Elisabeth Jennett, aged 45 and up with one female 16-26 Henry Jennett, one male less than 10; 1 female 16-26, 1 female less than 10 and one female 26-45. William Jennett, 1 male less than 10, 1 male 10-16, 2 males 16-26 and 1 male 26-45. 4 females less than 10, 1 female 10-16 and 1 female 26-45. By 1840, Sarah Jennett and Richard are in Upson County GA. living next door to each other. Henry has died and Richard has married Ally Macdonald. We can trace the family thereafter through the Kinsey line who are Sarah's maternal line. Louis Kinsey was Sarah's brother-in-law and Susannah Kinsey Cox, Richard Cox's wife, is living with them by 1850. I know this is detailed, but we've hit a real stone wall trying to establish Richard Jennett's parentage. Any leads or ideas would be really appreciated at this point. Many thanks for your patience reading this far.
