I know William D Exum married a girl named Ann. There was a William D Exum living in the home of William and Polly Spivey, according to the 1850 Johnston County census. Later they were living in Wayne County. Also looking for decendents of William and Ann. There were several children from this marriage. Daughter Ava married James R Rose on 5-8-1887. Daughter Mollie m. Charley Hawley 3-15-1896. Son Edwin m. Catherin Edna Pender 3-7-1886. Son James m. Patsy Jane Pender 5-20-1883. I dont know where these children settled down, but I assume it was in the Wayne-Wilson-Johnston-County areas. The 2 Pender girls were daus of William and Ann Radford Pender. I am also looking for family info on Henry M. Hooks of Wayne County. Henry's father was Jacob Hooks, who was the son of Hardy Hooks who married Drucilla Barden. Its seems that Henry had a 2nd wife, of whom we would like to know more. I think the 1st wife was Sallie Barnes. He had children by both wives. I am looking for her name and the other children. I am looking for information on a Dr. Louie Smith and his wife who lived in Wayne County ca. 1899-1915 North Carolina and practiced medicine in Wayne County and Goldsboro. He and his wife adopted a daughter Anita whose mother was Lousia Strickland and her father could have been Dr. Rand of Smithfield, Johnston County, NC. At the time she went to live with Dr. Louie Smith she was living with her mother and Elijah Lee Lynch of Boonhill Township, Johnston County, NC. near Princeton or Rosewood. Any information I could recieve would be of great help to my family research. She was a half-sister of my mother. Thank you for reading my query. I am, Westa Talton Morris

Does anyone know where I could find church records 1750-1850 regarding births, marriages and deaths of Wayne County residents? I am particularly trying to find the marriage record of a Drusellah/Drusilla STEVENS/STEPHENS to a COOPER ca.
1805-1810. She was the daughter of John and Mary Stevens/Stephens, and had a son William S. Cooper born 1810, based
upon her fathers will and his Family Bible Records.
I realize the couple could have been wed in churches or by pastors in the area from which Sampson Co. was made or the
surrounding counties.
The marriage could have been performed by one of the Rev. Coopers, Fleet or William, or by Rev. Edward Brown, as it
appears that the Mr. Cooper in question was related to the Rev. Coopers and Miss Stevens/Stephens was related to Rev. Brown.
Best Regards,
Gary

PLEASE HELP! We are trying to find any information out about my Great Great Grandmother, Martha Susan Thompson. All that we know for sure is that she was born January 4, 1849 (there is a 2 year difference on her headstone) and she died June 12, 1930 here in Augusta, GA at her son John Thompson's house while visiting. According to her obit, she had lived her entire life in NC and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church. We are not sure if Thompson is her married name or her maiden name. We cannot find a marriage licence, but according to oral family history, her first husband was killed in the Civil War. We do know that most of her children were born after the war. Her husband was supposed to be from NC. Her children are: Stephen Hayes Thompson, born 11/29/1866 in Moore Co., NC; Parker Thompson, born 9/21/1873 in Seven Springs, Wayne Co., NC; Callie Donnie Thompson (Phillips), born 7/20/1876 in Wayne Co., NC; Andrew Johnson Thompson, born 8-20-1878 in Wayne Co., NC; John William Thompson, born 1/1/1883 in Wayne Co., NC. I am sorry that I do not have more info to share so ya'll could get a better picture. My email is Suenann1@home.com Thank you, Susan Black Davis
