Seeking any information on the Burnhams of Wayne Co., N.C. Frederick Burnham was born 1785 in Duplin County,N.C. and died after 1860 in Wayne Co. I believe he was the father of: Elvy b. 1823, Nancy b. 1827, William b. 1830, Isaac R. b. 1831, Jacob H. b. 1833, and Charity b. 1842. There probably were more children. Anything on Frederick or his descendents would be appreciated. Also, Frederick had a newphew William Burnham b. c1794 that lived in the Buck Swamp Dist. of Wayne Co. He was son of John Burnham. I am looking for info on relatives to Rome "Romulus" Thompson. Rome was born to Harry Thomson and Milly Collins in Johnston County June, 1848. Harry and Milly Collins were married in Johnston County March 2, 1835 and the bondsman was Lewis Thomson. Rome married Ursula Jernigan in Wayne County July 16, 1872. Rome died in Duplin County January 18, 1929.

I am seeking any information on the surname of Fulghum ( or variation of name) in Wayne County, NC. I am especially interested in a Louisa Fulghum aka Dinkins. She may have been an orphan. Would like to share info about John HINES [c.1750-c.1815] of Wayne Co. He married a daughter of John EDENS of Johnston Co. John Hines was the brother of Charles Hines and they were sons of Robert Hines. John Hines removed to New Hanover Co. c.1778 where he died.

I am seaching for a Supreme Court Case in Wayne Co. between 1817-1821 that shows a depostion made by Frederick Grantham (son of Joshua). I have an excerpt from that court case that states the following: "Question by Hood: What relation are you to Joel Grantham (son of Thomas)? Answer: We are cousins, our fathers were brothers." Looking for information on the family of Littleton A. Hunt (c.1832) and his first wife, Elmina (Elmira, Elvina) Horne (c. 1843), married about 1861, had 4 known children: Thomas J. Hunt (c. 1863); Charles Henry Hunt, 1867 (my direct line); Robert Lee Hunt, 1868; Dora F. Hunt (1871). This family later moved to Wilson and Nash County, NC, but I believe that most of the children were born in Wayne County. Interested in hearing from and sharing information with any descendants of this family. Littleton was married a second time in 1874 in Nahunta to Mattie Gardner.

I am attempting to locate information on a (Stanton Cox) and (Issac Cox) (both are buried at Quaker Neck, NC)whom I beleive to be my great great grandfather and ggg grandfather repectively. My eldest relatives have indicated to me that they were residents of Wayne County and Orange County, North Carolina. Stanton Cox's son Thomas Cox later moved to Indiana prior to 1890. I am trying to tie the linkage between Stanton Cox and Thomas Cox. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thomas Cox (my great grandfather),(born in eastern North Carolina)moved to Columbus, Indiana and homesteaded (320 acres)there until 1947 when he died at 89.

Louisa Fulghum Dinkins b. abt 1850 had two children; male(unknown) b. abt. 1865 a Bastardy Bond was issued against a William Hemby Bailey in September 1865 and Dora Lilias Dinkins Peedin, a daughter born in 1874 died in 1940 and married to an Isaac Peedin in 1910; Louisa's parents were Rebecca Fulghum b. 1829 m. I would like to add this one. Edward House, my cousin, was born about 1908 and died in 1960. To my knowledge, he served well as a teacher at Goldsboro, North Carolina's Dillard High School. He leaves behind a wife Cleo Peeples House; four grown children: Gloria House Hull who died in 1971; Hugh House, Charles House who died in 1998?; and James House, who currently lives in the state of Maryland.
