Old Goldsboro Train Station

Old Goldsboro Train Station at the west end of Walnut Street.  It is now used by a building supply firm  (see pictures below).  The boy is Louis Holland, the year is about 1924.

A reader write:  This has to be the Train Station in Goldsboro....as child and young girl I arrived at this station many times in the summers between 1933and 1947 to visit my mother and father's people who lived in a small town outside of Wayne County that was located in Princeton Boonhill Township, Johnston County NC.  I have many happy memories of Goldsboro and was recently there doing Family Research at the Courthouse and over in Mt. Olive at the College on my
Talton-Davis-Stanley-Jennette famlies.  Enjoyed finding this page very much.  Thanks for the memory...   Mawpar@aol.com    6/24/99

Old Goldsboro train station in 2000 was a building supply store.

"I was in Goldsboro a couple of weeks ago, and the train station is currently empty. However, a group of concerned citizens is attempting to restore it. It is a beautiful building, and I hope it can be helped."
Claudia, a visitor  October 22, 2010

I hope it can be saved, too.  The one in Hamlet, NC, was restored and is now a beautiful museum.  --Diana, siteowner
