Will of Samuel Harrell (Pro. 1772, Bertie Co.NC)

Wife: Elizabeth*; Son Cader, Daughters: Keziah Bond, Ann Harrell, Dorothy Harrell (not named in will) Exec.: Son Cader and Friend James Moore

Property: 290 ac. plantation on Town Creek in Edgecombe Co. (Bertie Co.) where he now lives & 9 slaves.

*Elizabeth 1st married Thomas Harrell; was widowed by 1741, then married Samuel (his brother?)

Will of Samuel Harril(1792, Wayne Co. NC)

                In the name of God Amen.  This 3rd day of December in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Two, I Samuel Harril of Wayne County in the state of North Carolina Being Weak of Body but sound of mind & memory - Blessed by God for the same and knowing that it is appointed unto all _______ Once to die do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

            First and Principally of all I give and Bequeth My Soul into the hands of Almighty God Who gave it and My Body I commend to the Earth to be ___________________________________like and decent manner. At the ___________________________ here after to be named and as to my worldly goods with which it hath Blessed Almighty God to Bless one in this life I Give, Bequeth and Devise in manner and form following (that is to say). My Desire and Will is that All my Lawful Debts be first paid by my Executors.

Item: I lind to my Beloved Wife Ann Harrill all my Whole Estate Both Real and Personal for and during her Natural life together With the Increase there of

Item: I give and Bequeth to my Grandson Abner Flowers, son of William Flowers Ten pounds Current Money to be paid him at the Death of my Wife and Not before.

Item:  I give and Bequeth to my Daughter Zilpha Harrill the Whole of my Estate Both Real and Personal With the Increase (Excepting the Ten Pounds Given to my Grandson) Abner and her heirs forever To be by her Enjoyed by ______ at the Death of her Mother and Not Before.

And I do hereby Nominate Ordain & Appoint My Beloved Wife Ann Harrill and my __________ Friends Richard M. Kennedy & John Kennedy Executors of this my Will Revoking and Disanulling all ______________________ and every other Will or ____________ here before by me __________ Ratifying and Acknowledging this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament in ______________ where of I have here unto set my hand & Seal this Day and Year Above Written
